How to Cancel Amazon Prime

  1. 1

Go to amazon.com.au and sign in

Open amazon.com.au in a browser (easier than the app). Sign in with your Amazon account.

  2. 2

Account & Lists → Prime Membership

Hover over or tap Account & Lists in the top right. Click Prime Membership (or go directly to amazon.com.au/prime).

  3. 3

Click Manage Membership → End Membership

On the Prime page, click Manage Membership or Update, Cancel and more. Click End Membership. Amazon presents retention offers — pause your membership, downgrade to a cheaper tier, or receive a reminder before the next charge. Decline these and click Continue to Cancel, then confirm cancellation.

  4. 4

Confirm cancellation and note the end date

After confirming, you receive a confirmation email. Your Prime benefits continue until the end of the current billing period. Note the date in the confirmation — after this date, Prime benefits (free delivery, Prime Video, Prime Reading etc) end.

Can I Get a Refund?

Amazon may offer a partial refund if you cancel and have not used Prime benefits in the current billing period. The refund option appears during the cancellation flow. If you have used Prime benefits (made deliveries, streamed video), a refund is generally not available. Contact Amazon customer service if you were charged unexpectedly.

Set a reminder before the renewal dateAmazon Prime auto-renews annually or monthly. If you want to cancel, set a calendar reminder 3–5 days before your renewal date so you do not forget and get charged for another period. You can find your renewal date in Account → Prime Membership → Manage Membership.
