How to Deactivate Instagram

Open Instagram and go to your Profile
Tap your profile icon in the bottom right.

Tap the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top right. Tap Settings and Privacy.

Scroll to Account, tap it, then tap Deactivate Account at the bottom of the page.

Select a reason and confirm
Choose a reason from the dropdown. Enter your password when prompted. Tap Deactivate to confirm. Your account is immediately hidden from search and your profile disappears from followers' feeds.
You cannot deactivate from a desktop browserInstagram only allows account deactivation from the mobile app β not from instagram.com on a computer. If you only have desktop access, you will need to use the app.
Reactivating Your Account
