Connect a Bluetooth Keyboard

Put the keyboard in Bluetooth pairing mode
Most Bluetooth keyboards have a pairing button or a mode key. Check your keyboard's manual β usually you hold a Bluetooth button for 3β5 seconds until an indicator light flashes, showing it is discoverable.

iPad Settings β Bluetooth β toggle on
Open Settings on your iPad and tap Bluetooth. Make sure it is toggled on. The iPad scans for nearby devices automatically.

Tap the keyboard name when it appears
Your keyboard's name appears under Other Devices. Tap it. Some keyboards display a pairing code on screen β type it on the physical keyboard and press Enter to confirm pairing.

Future connections are automatic
Once paired, the keyboard reconnects automatically whenever it is turned on and Bluetooth is enabled on the iPad. No need to re-pair.

Keyboard Not Working After Connection
- Toggle Bluetooth off and on on the iPad
- Turn the keyboard off and back on
- In Bluetooth settings, tap the i next to the keyboard β Forget This Device β re-pair
- Check the keyboard battery is charged
